Aysgarth Station Bed and Breakfast offers year round accommodations on Mt. Desert Island. Our Bed and Breakfast extends New England hospitality and quiet comfort in a uniquely casual atmosphere.
The Inn is situated in downtown Bar Harbor....and you are only a short stroll to the harbor, many distinctive shops, an abundance of eateries and the Shore Path ocean-front walk. You are also only minutes away from both the CAT Ferry Terminal for traveling to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia as well as Acadia National Park.
Aysgarth Station offers gracious and unpretentious personalized service to make every guest feel special.
Enjoy beautiful Acadia National Park one day, and take a day trip to the islands surrounding Mt. Desert another. Shop in downtown Bar Harbor and sample some of New England’s crafts and Maine’s wondrous food delicacies.
Finish up each day at the Inn relaxing in front of a cozy fire, and start the next with a delicious gourmet breakfast. Aysgarth Station's accommodations include queen size beds, ceiling fans and private bathrooms. Afternoon refreshments make a great end to the day!
ROOMS:
HENLEY - Located on the first floor, this room has easy access to the dining room, features an antique pineapple bed, and of course, pictures and memorabilia of Henley Regatta. It is perfect for those who don’t want to use stairs or plan to be early risers on the CAT Ferry.
CHATSWORTH - Our largest room, Chatsworth features a queen-sized four poster bed and a large private bathroom with bathtub and shower – and is as stately as the English Estate for which it is named for. Its location at the back of the house ensures peace and tranquility during your stay.
SKIPTON - In this second floor room with antique iron bed and oak furnishings, you will be enticed to dream of quiet places in a land of long ago. Just as Skipton Castle stands majestically over its sleepy market town in Yorkshire, you can view the streets and churches of Bar Harbor from the corner windows.
WHITBY - Named for the small fishing town made famous by Captain Cook and Bram Stoker, this cozy room retains a nautical feel and features an antique high-back queen-sized bed and private bathroom with large shower.
TREEFALLS - Let this quiet third floor sanctuary with antique iron bed and multi-angled eaves, serve as your romantic hide-away. Listen to the wind in the leaves and dream your stay away.
TAN HILL - Named after the highest pub in England, this third floor room offers a wonderful view of Cadillac Mountain, the tallest mountain on the island. Tan Hill greets you with an antique high-bed and a private detached bathroom with shower.
Aysgarth Station is open year round so we invite you to enjoy the beauty of a new spring, a splendid summer, the change of colors during a crisp autumn afternoon, or visit for a winter holiday. Even in winter there is plenty to do. Reservations:
Reservations for the summer and fall are recommended well in advance, but occasionally rooms are available on short notice. Due to zoning restrictions on the number of guests we can accommodate, each suite or room is limited to two persons.
Minimum Stay:
There is a minimum stay of two nights in July, August, and September. We often have one night stays available, please call and ask about vacancies. Some holidays require a three night stay.
Deposits and Refunds:
A two night paid deposit is required to hold a room. Deposits can be made over the phone with Visa, MasterCard, or Discover, or by check if received within ten days of the initial reservation.
Deposits will be refunded, less a $25 processing fee if cancellation is received more than 14 days prior to arrival date; if the cancellation is within 14 days of the arrival date, a refund will only be made if the room can be rented for the entire length of your reservation.
Early departures cannot be refunded unless we can fill the space for the remainder of your reservation.
Rates are subject to a 7% Maine sales tax (to be added to room rate), and any balance due is payable upon arrival.
Check In & Check Out:
You may check in anytime from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Please call ahead if you will be arriving later, so appropriate arrangements can be made. Check out is by 11:00 am.

No pets, our cats will get jealous.
We regret that we are not set up to accommodate young children.
We offer off-season rates and discounts on extended stays.
